My Journey

When I was coaching high school and rec ball, I knew that our win/loss record didn’t reflect my teams real potential or my abilities as a coach. I thought to myself, “If I could only get in front of my players away from the court and teach them my plays, in my own coaching style and voice, it would have a huge impact on our practices and our games.”

After searching online for a solution that reflected my own coaching style and philosophy, I didn’t find anything I felt comfortable sharing with my players, so I decided to create it myself. That was over 16 years ago. Since then, my Youtube channel (Coach Russ) has grown to over 78K subscribers and over 13 million views on only 34 videos.

The true joy of coaching is seeing our efforts manifest in the success of the individuals who trust and believe in us. I’ve expanded my coaching from my own players, to players and coaches all over the world. I’m so honored my videos have positively impacted so many around the globe and I’m eager to share what I do with you now!
